From November 26 to December 2, Wang Shoujun, member of the University Council, Vice President, Beijing Normal University (BNU) and Director of the Administrative Committee, BNU Zhuhai, was invited to Japan to attend the 13th China-Japan University Presidents Forum (CJUPF) and deliver a keynote speech. Wang Shoujun led a delegation to visit the Chinese Consulate General in Osaka, Japan, visited J.F. Oberlin University in Japan, Yamaguchi University in Japan, Yonsei University in South Korea, and Korea University in South Korea, and held talks with Kyoto University in Japan, Kanazawa University in Japan, and Osaka University in Japan, and had discussions with BNU alumni representatives in Japan. Heads of relevant departments from the Office of the BNU Zhuhai & BNUZ Leading Group, Bay Area International Business School, School of Economics and Business Administration, and BNU Zhuhai International Office accompanied the visit.
On November 29, the 13th China-Japan University Presidents Forum opened. Wu Jianghao, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Japan, and Masaaki Saijo, Chief Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan attended the opening and delivered speeches. Teruo Fujii, President of the University of Tokyo, and Mitsuo Ochi, President of Hiroshima University, gave speeches respectively. During the forum, the presidents of Chinese and Japanese universities held heated discussions on the theme of "Diversity and Integration - Talents and Higher Education Needed in the Future" and shared thoughts and experiences on important topics, such as "Application of Information Technology in University Education" and "Global Challenges Brought by Climate Change". Wang Shoujun gave a keynote speech entitled "Beijing Normal University's Practice in Coping with Global Climate Change and Promoting Sustainable Development". He introduced BNU’s achievements and the direction of practice and efforts in promoting global sustainable development, which aroused strong resonance among the participants.

On November 30, the delegation visited the Chinese Consulate General in Osaka, Japan, and was accompanied by Consul General Xue Jian and staff from the Education Department. Xue Jian welcomed the delegation from BNU to visit Japan, and commended BNU for its long-term contribution to educational exchanges between China and Japan. Wang Shoujun said that BNU will continue to give full play to its advantages in teacher education and the school running pattern of "One University, Two Campuses", actively carry out educational and cultural exchanges with Japanese universities, and better serve the national development strategy.
On November 27, the delegation visited J.F. Oberlin University in Japan and met with Yoshiro Tanaka, Vice President of J.F. Oberlin University, and Lei Haitao, Dean of the Graduate School. The delegation also visited the Tokyo Sakura Center of the School of Economics and Business Administration of BNU and had in-depth exchanges on how to promote the implementation of the MBA "2+1" project and other cooperation content between the two parties.

On the morning of November 28, the delegation visited Yamaguchi University in Japan. They were met by Yamaguchi University President Yukio Tanizawa and Vice President Kuzusaki Wei. The two parties signed a memorandum of cooperation and a student exchange agreement, and discussed the next step to deepen cooperation.

On the afternoon of November 28, the delegation held talks with Kyoto University, Kanazawa University, and Osaka University respectively while participating in the China-Japan University Presidents Forum. Kyoto University Vice President Kono Yasuyuki, Kanazawa University President Wada Takashi, Osaka University Vice President Tanaka and others met with the delegation. Wang Shoujun introduced the advantages of Beijing Normal University's "One University, Two Campuses" in running a school, as well as its innovative measures in teaching, scientific research and talent training. He looked forward to carrying out exchanges and cooperation with Japanese universities at a higher level and in a wider range of fields.

On the morning of December 1, the delegation visited Yonsei University in South Korea and met with Yonsei University Vice President Kim Eun-kyeong and Dean of China Research Institute Kim Hyun-cheol. The two parties reviewed the good foundation for cooperation between BNU's School of International Chinese Education, College of Liberal Arts, and the Department of Chinese Language and Literature of Yonsei University, and exchanged views on areas of cooperation that can be expanded in the next stage.

On the afternoon of December 1, the delegation visited Korea University in South Korea and met with Song Xiangqi, Vice President of Korea University, and Jin Shangyong, Dean of the School of Business. The two parties reviewed the good foundation for previous cooperation between the two schools and conducted in-depth discussions on the possibility of cooperation in the field of business.

During their visit to Japan, the delegation also visited representatives of the Japanese Alumni Association of BNU and participated in an informal talk organized by the Japanese Alumni Association, and had in-depth and lively exchanges with alumni. Wang Shoujun introduced to the alumni the creation of a world-class university by BNU and the current development of the Zhuhai campus. He expressed his gratitude to all alumni for their contributions to the friendly exchanges between China and Japan, and welcomed overseas alumni to return to his alma mater for visits.

The CJUPF was jointly initiated by Peking University and the University of Tokyo in 2000 and is held every two years. It is the most important exchange mechanism meeting between Chinese and Japanese higher education institutions. The 13th forum is hosted by Hiroshima University, with the theme of "Diversity and Integration - Talents and Higher Education Needed in the Future." From 18 Chinese universities, including Peking University, Beijing Normal University, Fudan University, Zhejiang University, and Sun Yat-sen University, and from 19 Japanese universities, including Tokyo University, Kyoto University, Osaka University, and Nagoya University, as well as the Japan Student Support Organization and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, a total of more than 160 representatives from relevant institutions attended the meeting.
