On March 27, a delegation led by Morgan Wairiu, Vice Chancellor of Solomon Islands National University (SINU), visited Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai (BNU Zhuhai). Representatives from the Office of International Office, Belt and Road School, and the Center for Water Research/Institute for Water Security attended the meeting.

Guo Kanjun, Director of the Office of International Office at BNU Zhuhai, welcomed the delegation and introduced the campus. Representatives from Belt and Road School and the Center for Water Research/Institute for Water Security presented their respective programs, covering institutional development, talent cultivation, and research achievements.

The SINU delegation provided an overview of the university's development and expressed interest in strengthening cooperation with BNU under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative. They indicated a willingness to explore joint talent development programs and promote student exchanges, with the aim of enabling more students from the Solomon Islands to study at BNU.

Following the meeting, the delegation visited the Center for Water Research/Institute for Water Security to learn about its research environment and facilities. The visitors spoke highly of the Center's technological achievements, particularly in water recycling and seawater desalination.

Both sides expressed their intention to further enhance cooperation in related fields and to jointly address global challenges such as climate change.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Solomon Islands in 2019, bilateral ties have developed steadily, with fruitful cooperation across various sectors. This visit has laid a solid foundation for future collaboration between the two universities. Both sides agreed to deepen cooperation in talent cultivation and scientific research, contributing to educational exchange and sustainable development.
