On the evening of October 25, the "Let the Champion Guide You to Fitness" Fluorescent Night Run was held at Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai (BNU Zhuhai). This exciting event, which attracted over 300 enthusiastic participants, featured Chen Jingwen as the special guest speaker, an Asian Athletics Championship champion and the faculty member at Department of Physical Education of College of Education for the Future of BNU Zhuhai.
Chen led the session by sharing her knowledge on the science of running. She emphasized not only the numerous benefits of running for both body and mind, but also the importance of maintaining proper running posture and breathing techniques, as well as how to protect joints while running. For beginners, she provided practical advice, stressing the need to develop a reasonable running plan, gradually increase the running distance, and avoid the temptation to focus solely on speed or performance.
The event began with an energetic warm-up session led by Chen, accompanied by lively music, setting a vibrant and motivating atmosphere. As the whistle blew, participants, organized into groups based on their pace, began their run under the leadership of the campus running group, racing across the track and enjoying the spirited event. The glowing fluorescent lights from the participants' gear lit up the campus sky, creating a mesmerizing scene that energized the entire evening.
The "Let the Champion Guide You to Fitness" Fluorescent Night Run series of events is a key initiative aimed at promoting the "Healthy China" strategy and implementing the National Fitness Plan. It is also a significant step in improving the physical fitness and health of both faculty and students. In the future, several champion teachers from the Department of Physical Education of the College of Education for the Future will continue to blend theory and practice, teaching the principles and methods of scientific exercise, enabling faculty and students to gain valuable knowledge and skills for enjoying a healthier and more fulfilling life through sports.
