On Nov 15, 2021, the signing ceremony for the establishment of a strategic partnership between School of Future Design (SFD) of Beijing Normal University (BNU) and POLI. design founded by Politecnico di Milano was successfully held via video link. Following the principle of mutual benefits, win-win cooperation and common development, the two parties collaborate in the main areas, including the establishment of the Future Design Innovation Center in China, a center that aims to provide consultancy and training to companies throughout the Greater Bay Area (GBA), the organization of the specializing master in Furniture Design, the online and offline training for design professionals, the training and consultancy for companies in the field of design.
Wang Shoujun, Vice President of BNU, noted that Politecnico di Milano is one of the world’s leading universities in the field of creative design. The cooperation between BNUSFD and POLI.design will make great contributions to the innovation and development of the GBA.
Francesco Zurlo, President of POLI.design, expressed that it is an honor to become a strategic partner with BNUSFD, and he hoped that both sides can benefit from future talent cultivation, course sharing, joint research and project cooperation.
The agreement on strategic cooperation was signed by Gao Peng, Dean of SFD, and Francesco Zurlo, which was witnessed by Wang Shoujun, Chen Xi, Director of International Education Affairs of BNU Zhuhai and Li Ming, Head of POLI. design of Politecnico di Milano in China. BNUSFD was established at BNU Zhuhai in June 2021. Based on the leading disciplines of BNU and grounded at the cross-disciplinary research in arts, technology and education, SFD covers three research directions: Design and Future Production and Lifestyle, Art and Technology, Design and Education. With the goal of providing pioneering and exploration practices for design industry, SFD aims to equip innovative talents with professional literacy, cutting-edge visions, comprehensive analytical skills, and scientific and humanistic concepts.
