Li Xingsheng, a Thai student from BNU, won the first prize in the 7th "My Beautiful Encounter with China" Essay and Short Video Competition

On December 4, in the 7th "My Beautiful Encounter with China" Essay and Short Video Competition for International Students in China, guided by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education and sponsored by the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, SAE CHU NATTHASIT (Li Xingsheng), a Thai international student studying at Phoenix School of Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai (BNU Zhuhai), won the first prize with the short video entitled "Seek the Way of Teachers", for its unique perspective, excellent shooting and production effects.

Li Xingsheng is a Thai undergraduate student at Phoenix School of BNU. He won the championship in Thailand and the first prize in the world in the 13th Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign Secondary School Students. He started learning Chinese at the age of seven and came to China to study because of his love for Chinese. His goal is to return to Thailand to be a Chinese teacher, pass on the knowledge he learned in China to the children in Thailand, and contribute to the Chinese education industry in Thailand.

In the video, Li Xingsheng started his story from his fate with the traditional Chinese talent Guankou, and told everyone how he experienced the charm of traditional Chinese talents under the guidance of his teacher when he participated in the 13th Chinese Bridge. After coming to China to study, he felt the dignity of BNU through his interactions with the Chinese teachers there. He also felt the splendor of Chinese culture through the diversified activities organized by Phoenix School, which further strengthened his determination of becoming an excellent Chinese teacher in Thailand after his studies.

After the competition, Li Xingsheng said that he benefited a lot from this competition. He met many seniors who helped him grow and learned a lot of new knowledge. In the short video, he fully expressed his thoughts on the future, which made him more determined on the path he chose.

2023 marks the tenth anniversary of China’s “One Belt One Road” initiative. The award-winning work is not only an important testimony of Phoenix School’s successful management of international students, but also an important manifestation of the school’s efforts to encourage international students in China to tell Chinese stories well. Phoenix School students personally experienced the real China and told vivid Chinese stories, which reflected the innovation and thinking of BNU Zhuhai in the field of Chinese international education.
